Holly U’Ren- Family Advocate

Hi! My name is Holly. I am the Domestic Abuse Survivor Family Advocate for PAVE. I have 3 amazing children who keep me very busy. We also have two pleasantly plump cats and a sweetheart of a pup. I enjoy cheering my children on in their many activities. I also love spending quality time with my family traveling, camping and just being goofy together.

I am currently working on a bachelor’s degree in human resources management at Capella University. I’ve worn many hats through the years including; Military Police officer for 6 years, 15 years as an ER Tech, CNA and Medication Tech, and 3 years as an activity’s director. I am confident that my work as a police officer as well as in the medical field has given me the knowledge and compassion to work in this position.

I am honored to be serving our community here with PAVE. I am excited for all the changes happening within the organization. If you find yourself or anyone you know needs our services, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Sylvia Ortiz- Bilingual Victim Advocate

I was born and raised in Long Beach, California. I have a loving husband, 3 children, and a tiny 2-pound chihuahua. We love to host gatherings at our place, we enjoy camping, hiking, and the outdoors. Every year we plant a huge vegetable garden, and have a love for house plants and flowers.

I have always loved working with the community and contributing where the need is great. I love everything about my work with PAVE from working closely with the community and watching how freely they give to those affected by violence. It is my goal to help raise awareness to reach as many people as possible, this helps prevent abuse and helps victims to know where they can reach out for help. I take pride in my work and love seeing how I can help someone come to us as a victim and help them blossom into a survivor and regain their dignity and independence.

In the past, I have worked with the Madison Metropolitan School District as a Bilingual Teacher’s Assistant and as the School Clerk, I have worked at a Law firm for 7 years, and then as a Bilingual Teller and Personal Banker, in these positions, I have learned communication skills, teamwork, problem solving, emotional intelligence, helping students gain self-confidence, and a lifetime of helping many, many people who have a language barrier to communicate with others.

I am honored to be a lead advocate for an organization that lives up to their mission of “Empowering those affected by violence”.

Our team of leads all have something in common (A deep passion for helping others).

Nací en Long Beach California.
